Divorce and separation are probably the most stressful times of a person's life. For 31 years, I have focused my practice on family law matters and resolved these issues for my clients through negotiation, litigation and mediation.

The practice of family law encompasses the resolution of several issues, among which are divorce, custody and support. I am also a certified mediator and am able to provide couples with an environment to work through the legal aspects of a family law matter and reach compromises without the cost, time and anxiety of a drawn out litigation process.

In working with my clients who are going through separation and divorce, I am working with a legal agenda and an emotional agenda.  A good attorney cannot ignore the emotional agenda.  I may not have solutions to the problems that arise from those emotions, but I guide my clients as they go through this very difficult period in their lives.  I do encourage settlement of cases.  It is always better, in my mind, to settle a case rather than allow it to go to litigation.  Whatever the perceived loss, it is made up by the fact that one regains his/her life and can regain some normalcy in regard to being part of a family that is no longer intact, but still a family.
